Studying Release Day!

Happy Friday! Hope everyone had fantastic weeks and has even better weekends planned. I'm busy beavering away on Camp Alien and a host of other things, but since we have things going on, let's get to them, shall we? We shall!

First up, yay and hooray -- the Kickstarter for the Alien Artifacts and WERE- anthologies has funded and hit stretch goals. Meaning "Alien Epilogue" and "Missy the Were-Pomeranian vs. the Masters of Mediocre Doom" will be coming to you early next year. Thanks so much to everyone who helped fund these books, and enjoy all your backer rewards while you wait for the anthologies!

Today's also exciting because it's the official release day of A Study in Starlets, my novella follow-up to my short story, "All the Single Ladies", in the Two Hundred and Twenty-One Baker Streets anthology. A Study in Starlets follows Sherlock and her new partner, John Watson, as they settle into their duplex in Santa Monica and land a case that seems ordinary but is anything but. For those who pre-ordered, enjoy the story, and for those who didn't, go get your copy of A Study in Starlets right now!

And for those who prefer a physical book, you can pre-order alt. Sherlock Holmes: New Visions of the Great Detective which will have A Study in Starlets along with two other alternative universe versions of Sherlock and Watson for your reading pleasure.

Speaking of pre-orders, have you pre-ordered your copy of the third installment in the Martian Alliance Chronicles, "A Bug's Life" yet? If not, head over to Amazon or Smashwords and get your pre-order in today. "A Bug's Life" will be on sale everywhere, including Barnes and Noble, on Tuesday, September 15th. And, if you haven't gotten installments one and two yet, get your copies of "The Royal Scam" and "Three Card Monte" now, so you're all caught up when "A Bug's Life" hits the interwebs.

And, of course, a reminder that it's never too early to pre-order Alien in Chief and Camp Alien either online or from your favorite bookstore. Pre-orders help authors in a variety of ways, not the least of which by helping their publishers to determine print runs (which in turn determine whether or not a book can make a bestseller list), determine if there's enough interest to keep a series going, and a variety of other factors. They help authors this way, too, of course, and for indie authors it helps them rank well and that helps get them onto promo lists from Amazon for free. So, if you love an author, pre-order their bookie wookies.

Last but in no way least, you have five days left to get in on the latest contest -- Clean My House, where you can win the edited galley of the award-winning Alien in the House. Just scroll down or hit this link to get to the entry form. Yes, it's open internationally and it's also for Hook Me Up! only, but if you're not on, it's not too late. Send an email to gini@ginikoch.com with "Hook Me Up!" in the subject line and then enter away while basking in the knowledge that you're in with the in-crowd.

That's it for today, but as always, more's on the way. So everyone enjoy the slide into the weekend and let's be readers out there. Peace out, my li'l gangstas, and I'll catch you on the flip side!

Love,
Gini
